Abstract

The article explores the role of family in shaping the emotional and affective sphere of adolescents, with a focus on legal aspects of influencing emotional development and mechanisms for protecting children's rights. The family serves as the primary environment for the emotional and psychological development of adolescents, and its influence during this period is particularly significant. During adolescence, not only are social connections formed, but also intra-personal ones, which directly affect emotional stability and mental health.

The article discusses how Ukraine’s legal system holds parents accountable for creating a healthy emotional climate within the family and for ensuring the emotional well-being of adolescents. The significance of legal mechanisms that protect children from emotional abuse, neglect of their emotional needs, and other violations in family relationships is emphasized. Particular attention is given to legal tools such as child rights protection legislation, laws concerning psychological abuse, as well as mechanisms for administrative and criminal protection of children.

The article analyzes legal norms regulating the behavior of parents and other family members regarding the emotional and psychological upbringing of adolescents, as well as the measures that may be taken against those who violate children's rights in this regard. It also examines the interaction between the family and state institutions in ensuring adolescents' rights, particularly through the involvement of guardianship and custody bodies, educational institutions, and psychological services in addressing issues related to emotional well-being.

The article outlines the prospects for the development of legal regulation in the protection of adolescents’ emotional and affective sphere, particularly the need for improvements in legislation on psychological assistance to children and family support in difficult situations, as well as the role of state structures in ensuring the stable emotional development of adolescents.
