Abstract

The article examines the features of handwriting examination of handwritten texts, records and signatures made in Chinese characters. The authors analyze the specifics of the graphic structure of Chinese writing, its stylistic diversity and the influence of cultural traditions on the formation of individual handwriting. Special attention is paid to methodological difficulties that arise when identifying the artist of these handwriting objects. The paper proposes approaches to adapting classical handwriting methods for the analysis of hieroglyphic writing, taking into account linguistic and graphological features.

The article also explores the history of the formation of Chinese hieroglyphic writing as one of the most ancient ideographic systems, reflecting the worldview, identity and cultural traditions of the Chinese people. The authors emphasize the limited availability of sources on this topic for European researchers, which is due to language and historical barriers. An analysis of scientific sources devoted to the evolution of Chinese writing and the current state of Chinese font design is carried out. As a result of the study, key directions in the development of font art are outlined: the combination of traditional calligraphy with modern graphic practices, the influence of Western styles, the harmonization of form, as well as the integration of digital technologies and virtual reality into the aesthetics of Chinese writing.

The authors come to the following conclusions:

1. Chinese hieroglyphic writing as an object of handwriting examination has unique graphic and structural features that require adaptation of traditional methods of analysis.

2. Individual features of writing in hieroglyphs are manifested through rhythm, pressure, and stroke sequence, which allows for identification of the artist even in the absence of a phonetic component.

3. Methodological difficulties associated with the lack of unified scripts and stylistic diversity of calligraphy require an interdisciplinary approach - a combination of knowledge of forensics, graphology, and linguistics.

4. Conducting an examination of Chinese manuscripts is possible provided that specialists familiar with the structure of hieroglyphs are involved, as well as the use of specialized databases and writing standards.

5. Prospects for the development of handwriting research in the field of hieroglyphic writing include the creation of methodological recommendations, training of experts in Asian languages, and the integration of digital technologies for handwriting analysis.

6. Handwriting examination of Chinese manuscripts is possible subject to adaptation of methodologies.

7. Interdisciplinary cooperation is required: forensics, linguistics, graphology.

8. Prospects for development: creation of databases of hieroglyphic writing, training of specialists in Asian languages in the forensic field.

The article will be useful for forensic experts, translators, as well as forensic specialists who work with multilingual documents.
