Abstract

This article provides an in-depth analysis of modern tools for raising capital for medium-sized businesses in Ukraine, which are crucial for economic stability, job creation, and the country’s recovery amid Russia’s ongoing aggression.

The study explores a diverse set of financial instruments, including technical support, crowdfunding, leasing, grants, franchising, cooperative financing, and asset tokenization, each offering unique opportunities to address the constraints of traditional banking finance.

The article evaluates the effectiveness, advantages, and limitations of these tools in the context of war-induced economic instability and external challenges, such as inconsistent tax policies and financial market overregulation. Practical recommendations are offered for entrepreneurs, including combining multiple financing tools, enhancing financial literacy, and engaging in technical support programs to optimize capital-raising efforts. For the state, the study advocates simplifying the regulatory framework, developing legal guidelines for asset tokenization, and expanding support for cooperative financing initiatives.

A significant role is played by the Ukraine Facility program, which allocates €50 billion in EU support through 2027. This initiative fosters the modernization of medium-sized businesses, the adoption of digital technologies, and alignment with European standards, thereby enhancing investor confidence. Notably, it supports export-oriented enterprises and promotes sustainable development, further integrating Ukrainian businesses into global markets.

The research underscores the need to adapt financial strategies to wartime challenges and European integration processes, which are essential for strengthening medium-sized businesses and driving Ukraine’s economic recovery.
