Abstract

The article examines the issue of protection of the rights of children with disabilities in Ukraine and focuses on the organisational and legal mechanisms of protection. This problem is of particular importance in the context of the implementation of key democratic principles regarding the rights of the child to protection from all forms of violence, neglect and abuse, especially when it comes to the rights of children with disabilities. The study addresses the issue of access to vital services and items for children with disabilities, such as early intervention services and therapy. It emphasises the importance of adherence to international humanitarian law and human rights law that protect the rights of children with disabilities during armed conflict, and the obligations of the state to protect and fulfill the rights of children with disabilities, including the rights to development and full participation in public life. The article also examines the organisational and legal mechanisms of public administration that help to resolve contradictions and prevent social problems. Ukraine ensures the protection of the rights of children with disabilities through the use of organisational and legal mechanisms. Ukrainian legislation contains provisions to protect the rights of children with disabilities and ensure their full life, including access to education, medical care and other services. Ukraine adheres to international conventions and standards related to the protection of the rights of children with disabilities. Important international documents regulating the protection of the social rights of children with disabilities are analysed. The problems of protecting the rights of children with disabilities in Ukraine during the war are considered. It is determined that Ukraine has made some progress in protecting the rights of children with disabilities, but there are still many gaps. It is concluded that achieving the goal of protecting the rights of children with disabilities requires the use of various organisational and legal mechanisms, including policy, legislation, procedures and tools.
