Abstract

The work examines the concept of forensic forensic examination of documents, its subject, objects and methods, current state and prospects for further development. The history of falsification of various documents for illegal purposes is analyzed, which is evidenced by the evolution of information documenting methods and related forgery methods. It is proven that the examination of documents has a long history and is directly related to the appearance and spread of writing.

On the basis of the results of the analysis of sources from criminal law and process, criminology, criminology, forensic examination, problematic aspects of the appointment and conduct of this type of expert research, such as technical and forensic research of documents, are considered. The importance of these studies for evidence in criminal proceedings about economic crimes is emphasized, problematic issues of recognition of the results of these studies as evidence in criminal proceedings are investigated.

The main methods of technical and forensic investigation of documents are considered. The main tasks and criteria for document examination have been identified. The possibility of using innovative technologies in the process is considered study of documents and substantiated their expediency. One of the most common purposes of the examination is identification, establishing information about the method and technique of document execution.

The analysis of investigative and judicial practice shows that during the investigation and trial of criminal cases, it is often necessary to solve issues that require special knowledge in the field of technical and forensic examination of documents. This type of examination contributes to exposing the criminal (or a group of criminals), establishing the identity of the victim, clarifying the way the crime was committed, establishing the damage caused by criminals, clarifying the specific circumstances of the crime.
