The article presents the results of historical and legal research of legal regulation of property relations according to Ruska Pravda. Norms governing property relations are contained in all legal attractions of Kievan Rus. Their main source is the code of ancient Ukrainian early feudal law Ruska Pravda. Land was the most important property. The main forms of land ownership were the prince's domain, boyar and monastic land tenure, and the land of peasant communities. Protection of property rights of feudal lords - one of the main purposes of legal regulation of property relations of the princely era. In order to avoid uprisings, ancient Ukrainian law to some extent protected from feudal arbitrariness and the individual interests of the dependent population. Thus, during the period of special aggravation of social relations at the beginning of the XII century. to pacify the country Volodimir Monomakh made some concessions to purchases and stinks, limiting accounts payable.
One of the oldest types of transactions were sales contracts. Loan agreements (money, cattle, things, products) were the most fully regulated norms of ancient Ukrainian law. In the conditions of developed domestic and foreign trade, Ruska Pravda solves the problem of bankruptcy in detail. Ancient Ukrainian law distinguishes between inheritance by law and by will only by family members.
Inheritance of outsiders, as well as side relatives, is not provided. The principle of the minorate was in force, according to which the father's yard passed to the youngest son. The rest of the inheritance was distributed among the eldest sons. The daughters received only a dowry, and the heirs were obliged to marry them.
The norms of ancient Ukrainian law contained in Ruska Pravda convincingly testify to a sufficiently high level of legal regulation of property relations. They not only protect private property, but also regulate the procedure for its inheritance, obligations and contracts.
