A policy on the use of AI and AI-enabled technologies, which clearly defines the permissible and impermissible areas of AI application in the publication preparation process, and sets out requirements for authors to disclose information regarding their us
The journal adheres to the ‘Guidelines on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Scholarly Communication’ developed by the European Association of Scientific Editors. The editorial board of the journal ‘DICTUM FACTUM’ recognises the growing role of artificial intelligence technologies in scientific activity and supports their responsible use, provided that the principles of academic integrity, transparency and scientific ethics are upheld. The editorial board will monitor developments in AI technologies and amend or refine these guidelines accordingly.
The use of artificial intelligence tools is permitted only as an auxiliary tool and cannot replace the author’s intellectual contribution. The journal’s editorial board expects every author to voluntarily declare the use of AI in the preparation of materials for our journal. The use of artificial intelligence technologies is a permissible tool in scientific activity only provided that it is transparent, controllable and subject to the principles of academic integrity.
For authors
The use of AI technology must be carried out under human supervision and control, and authors must carefully review and edit the output, as AI can generate plausible results that may be incorrect, incomplete or biased.
Authors may use AI tools solely as an auxiliary tool for:
- language editing and stylistic improvement of the text without altering the scientific content;
- translating texts;
- preparing the structure of the manuscript or summarising their own original material;
- technical formatting of the text in accordance with the journal’s requirements.
AI cannot be recognised as an author or co-author.
Prohibited uses of AI
- the automatic generation of references or bibliographies, which may result in fictitious or incorrect sources;
- AI outputs must not be used as primary sources, as citations may be inaccurate;
- the use of AI tools to formulate research conclusions is not permitted.
The authors bear full responsibility for:
- the reliability and accuracy of the information
- the originality of the text
- scientific conclusions and interpretations.
The author(s) must ensure that the use of artificial intelligence tools does not replace critical thinking, professional expertise and adherence to the ethical principles of scientific practice. At the same time, the author(s) bear full responsibility for the accuracy of the material, the prevention of plagiarism and the minimisation of any potential biases arising from the use of AI.
Images and other multimedia content generated by artificial intelligence may not be published in the journal ‘DICTUM FACTUM’ without the editorial board’s permission.
